I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some resources on modding Radeons into FirePros. Currently what I've been able to find is that the 4000 series, more specifically the 1GB 4870 is the best bet for doing this, as it is almost exactly the same hardware as the FirePro V8700. Ideally I'd like to run 2 Radeons as FirePros in Crossfire. Possibly even 2 dual GPU Radeons if it can be done? Soft/Driver modding would be preferred, as it would let me use the cards as either, depending on the application. However, I'm not apposed to bios flashing, or a little hardware modification (soldering, ect.) if that's what it will take. It's been a long time since I've used this form, been out of the PC building game for a while. I appreciate any assistance in advance FYI This is the CAD rig I'm building. I'd like to try this on a friend's PC with a 6770, but I'm torn between the modded driver or the official FirePro driver that has non-GCN support. It would be nice if some of the cpu overhead reduction carried over. Permalink; embed; save; give gold. [–]tonibm19[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child).
